Pascal Ravesteyn PhD

Dr. Pascal Ravesteijn is professor of Process Innovation and Information Systems within the research center for Digital Business and Media at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht. Throughout his career, he has always worked on the boundary between Business and IT. This is reflected in his current research interests and projects that mainly focus on IT-driven business & process model innovation and the subsequent competences and skills that employees need to be effective in a digital environment.

Relevant Experience

Pascal started teaching and doing research in the business process management domain during the nineties. He lectured courses on the Dynamic Enterprise Modelling functionality of the Baan ERP software, business process modeling notation (BPMN) and business process management systems (BPMS). Pascal received a PhD from Utrecht University with a thesis on the implementation of BPM systems, Factors and Competences for Business Process Management Systems Implementation. During 2009 to 2018, Pascal was a board member of the Dutch BPM-Forum for which he acted as chair from 2014 onwards. Furthermore, he is also a member of the board of directors of the International Information Management Association (IIMA) and the editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Information Technology and Management.

Jorge Coelho

Jorge Coelho is managing partner at SisConsult since 1996, co-founder and president of INOV.ORG – Association for organizational innovation, chair of the Innovative conference – organizational and process innovation, and member of the Advisory Board of CIONET Portugal. He is chairman of the Supervisory Board of Portucalense University (UPT), and Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems at the University of Minho and the University Portucalense since 1993. Jorge is also visiting professor at the BPM summer school of HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht since 2015.

Relevant experience

Jorge’s experience is related to organisational innovation projects, business planning and strategy deployment, BPM strategic and operational management consulting, information systems planning and implementation, change management, knowledge management, and management training, covering many business sectors and public administrations. In the past, Jorge was the head of the IT consulting department at the Porto Office of Price Waterhouse (1990-94), and Management Control, Organisation and IT manager at Central Region of Portuguese Post Offices (1979-1990). Jorge is a regular speaker at conferences and workshops.

Jorge has been supporting organisational change initiatives in private (Portuguese and foreign, SMEs and large) enterprises and public sector bodies at central and local levels. He specialises in workshops at board level involving senior directors and managers to clarify and deploy business strategy, model business architectures in terms of organisational competences, design governance models, define and align business project portfolios, define and implement management and strategy control systems and continuous improvement and innovation. Results include improved strategy alignment, agility, performance, motivation and breaking away from silo thinking!

Luís Barreiros

Luís Barreiros is professor of Business Process Management and Information Systems Integration at Universidade Portucalense Infante D. Henrique and at Escola Superior de Tecnologia e Gestão do Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo. Also, Luís is a Senior Intelligent Process Automation Consultant at WeMake Tecnologias de Informação, combining Digital Process Automation with Robotic Process Automation.
